Garrett had to work much of this weekend, so I decided to pack up and head to my parents’ with Whiskey. It had been a long time since I’d stayed over for more than an evening visit and it was nice to be home with my family and celebrate Thanksgiving together.
My sister made amazing Pumpkin Spice Whoopie Pies with Maple Cream Cheese Filling. She gave me the recipe and I’ll be posting it later this week.
They were super addictive and even now I am craving another one after looking at these pictures.
My baking contribution was four pumpkin pies. Considering it was my first attempt at making them, they turned out pretty good.
We pulled out some of my mom’s vintage linen collection for the “kids table”, even though the youngest “kid” is 18.
My great aunt also brought her Homemade Cranberry Sauce. Absolutely delicious and always a holiday tradition in our family. I can’t imagine turkey without it.
We served a great organic chardonnay given to us as a thank you gift for the wedding flowers we did this summer. It was the perfect special occasion to break it out.
We also gave him some of this Merrick Grain Free Thanksgiving Dinner dog food. We don’t usually do canned food for him, but we couldn’t resist giving him a little Thanksgiving treat too.
Not everyone could make it to this year’s Thanksgiving, but it was still a great time having so many of us together. Already looking forward to seeing them all at Christmas!
