This weekend my dear friend Sarah got hitched!
Seeing her looking absolutely gorgeous and standing up at the altar with the love of her life, Randy, made me a little teary.
The happy couple!
The bridesmaids and two of my dearest friends – Ashley and Kim.
I love these ladies!
The gorgeous and delicious cake that Randy’s aunt made. Does she do birthday cakes? Because I’m going to need one of these in about eleven months.
The tables were set in lovely white and green. I would never have thought of green as an accent colour, but it made everything pop on the table.
The centerpieces were beautfiul and smelled fantastic.
I luckily got to take one home 🙂
Sarah had told me about these mini topiaries that she had found for the place cards, but they were even cuter in real life. She keeps joking that she can now have them in a little army of topiaries on her dining room table. I see Civil War renactments at future dinner parties.
Even my pre-dinner Corona fit in with the decor.
Its all about the lime, my friends 😉
The Main-of-Honour and Bridesmaids. Their dresses were so cute and flattering. Its made me re-think the power of going green.
The little flower girl should have been renamed Speedy Gonzales. She was bouncing around the reception hall all evening until she eventually crashed and was taken home.
In the meantime, she wanted me to take pictures of sparkles so that she could see them on my camera.
I was trying to take a picture of the head table, but her spinning took priority. Sometimes when you’re got a pretty dress, you’ve just gotta spin around in it.
The fantastic Julie and Johnny were seated at our table. By the end of the night I was begging them to make the move from London to Toronto. I need more dancing with these two. One night of Lady Gaga and 60s pop hits just ain’t enough.
When it was time to toast, the bride’s mother and father came up to give a very funny and heartfelt speech, including the grooms failed attempts at fishing with her future father-in-law.
A toast to the couple! Oh how I love champagne.
First dance 🙂
My tablemate, Adam (husband of Ashley the bridesmaid) shows off the lovely cookies that were at the table. He was happy to eat mine for me too. The guy in the background is Brett, my fake date for the night after my real date couldn’t make it. Brett is expecting a baby with his girlfriend this fall, but he was happy to join us at our table, partake in the open bar and dance the night away. A good sport!
Kim and her boyfriend Chris. Possibly one of the nicest couples in the whole world. Not a bad bone in either of them, I swear.
I bet that they’re wedding will be next 😉
The photographers ended up being my childhood friend, Holly, and her boyfriend, Ryan. I got a bit of camera envy when I saw the equipment they had.
Time to toss the bouquet!
And pull off that garter belt!
Randy made a big show of taking it off, and had the entire crowd roaring with laughter. Grandma may have blushed a little 😉
Which one of those lucky lads caught it?
Best Man and Johnny getting their dance on!
It was a great night of dancing and laughing with good friends. My sides were in stitches by the end of the night.
Ashley and her husband, Adam. I let him have the camera alot that night, and when I uploaded the pictures the next day there were TONS of Ashley. I’m starting to think that maybe he’s a little crazy in love with her.
By the smiles on these newlyweds’ faces, I think that they had as great a time at the rest of us!
Just Married
After a quick change and a final dance, we all sent these two off on their honeymoon. Congrats you two! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you together 🙂
