Easter Family Spring

A Wonderful Weekend with Friends and Family

This weekend was a whirlwind of fun. There was plenty of food, great conversations and lots of family and friends around.

I even attempted to make a bunny cake, which turned out pretty darn tasty.

The best cake of the weekend was this amazing piece created by my mother’s friend.

She painstakingly hand rolled every petal on those roses.

The little nests were made with melted chocolate and Shredded Wheat, filled with mini chocolate eggs.

Whiskey enjoyed all the festive excitement too and relished in the attention he got.

He was even dragged into a few photos by my cousin’s little boys. They just can’t get enough of the fact that he is more “their size” than the big dogs around.

There was plenty of coaxing him to stay using carrots.

But I think that he is skinny enough for me not to worry about a few (dozen) carrots.

I followed one of the boys outside and caught him poking around at grandpa’s birdfeeders. Its fun watching them look at things. Its like seeing the world with new eyes.

Once he saw the camera, he decided to ham it up a bit.

Jump!

What a happy little boy!

There was some tumbling and rolling. I wish I could still do this without complaining about aches, pains, etc. (When did I get so old?)

That looks like far too much fun for what it really is – rolling in grass.

We also popped in for a quick visit with my other cousin’s little boy. My father proceeded to teach him how to wink and my mother taught him how to blow a kiss. I’m sure now he’s going to be a little Casanova when he grows up.

But with bright eyes like that, it was pretty much a given.

Now that the weekend is over, I wish that I had another one right away. I’m pooched! Thank goodness their are only two more (very full) work days this week. I am planning to plan nothing all weekend. I need to recharge these old batteries of mine!
