Sunshine…Finally!

The weather in Toronto this past week or so has been nothing but depressing.
Rain. Cold. Ick.

And then this afternoon (after a very rainy morning), I stepped outside to see this…

Sunshine! Glorious Sunshine!

All this rain seems to have made everything grow very fast, including all the weeds already clogging the hideous garden in my front yard. Last year I tried to pretty it up a little and plant some flowers to greet me when I got home. It didn’t help the horrible concrete steps, or the beat up railing, but it still put a smile on my face (and hopefully my apartment neighbours too)

The hosta has come back wonderfully, but I still have to think of something to plant to the left of it and cover up that meter a little bit.

This side is just as bad…dead dandelions and a peony in desperate need of pruning is all that has survived the strangling growth of the weeds.

Hopefully I’ll find some time in the next week to plant some new lovelies, as long as this rain stays a way!

I’m off to a fun night with my sister and brother. They’re coming into the city for a special evening out and I can’t wait to see them!
