Canada Cottage Dogs Summer

A Long Weekend of Adventures

June was a wild and hectic month, so what better way to kick off July than with a Canada Day Long Weekend spent up at a cottage with friends! After a late night drive on Thursday, we finally ended up here:

Our friend’s quiet little cottage. I turned off the blackberry and let all the worries and concerns that I have stay away in the city. It was the best feeling.

I also got to spent a lot of time with this guy 🙂

…and this little guy too. Don’t worry about the little bandage, he just had a cut that I was trying to protect from all the dirt in the woods.

Mind you, he spent most of his time cuddled up with Garrett and I anyways. I love it when he perches on my shoulders like a little parrot. He seemed to have just a great as time as I did hanging out with the gang.

We grabbed bikinis and drinks…

…and swam out to the rock for girl chat. (Thats a very small picture, but its us!)

We BBQ’d almost every meal…

…and played flip cup until the food was ready.

There was plenty of zipping around the lake…

…and good laughs with friends.

Eventually we got a good picture with our eyes (somewhat) open.

We dreamed of owning big cottages…

…and gorgeous gazebos.

The dogs lounged around…

…and stared down birds.

Whiskey went for a swim or two in his lifejacket.

There were future-in-laws teasing each other…

…and comical t-shirts. (I think this is one of my favorites)

There were races around the lake…

…and waterskiing.

There was s’mores at the bonfire…

…and fireworks on the dock.

I’d have to say, it was a pretty awesome weekend…

…and the hardest part was leaving this to go back to the city. I always wish vacations could last longer, but we’ll have to see what adventures next weekend brings!
