Music in the Park

One of the great things about the town that we moved to is that they are always running events in the local park by us.

Every week there is either a concert, festival or movie night.

This week it was a classic rock band that did some amazing covers.

We grab our favourite blanket and maybe a few chairs and head to the park to watch the show.

Sometimes we have friends, like Courtney and Dave, join us for a “Fish and Chips” picnic in the park while we listen to the music.

Whiskey loves all the people watching (and the bits of fries we feed him).

He also loves all the dogs he gets to meet, but sometimes he doesn’t realize that they are a wee bit bigger than him.

He really wanted to check this guy out.

We’re hoping to head over again this weekend to check out some more events before the summer is over…if the rain lets up.

Meanwhile, we’ve got some chicken marinating in the fridge with a new homemade chipotle marinade I’m trying out.

My mom sent us home with half a can of chipotles (hard to find here in Canada), so I’m trying to stretch them out to last over a few different recipes.

While I was whipping up the marinade this morning, someone ended up on the table somehow. (Take one guess who thought it was funny to put him up there.)

He got a great view out of all the windows and the people walking by down below.

Now I’m worried he will try to make this his new “squirrel look out” post.
And the other thing I’m working on this weekend….

Cleaning up this mess. I pulled everything out of closets, drawers, under the bed – and now it’s time to sort it. Ugh! That’s just what you have to do on rainy weekends.
