While many people I saw on Instagram were out dressed up as goblins and ghouls to celebrate Halloween last weekend, I was getting dressed up for an entirely different reason…
My dear friend Kim was getting hitched! It was a great chance to see so many of my high school friends together in one room.
The weather was a little dreary, so the festivities were brought inside into this beautiful sunroom off of the banquet hall. You had panoramic views of entire golf greens and surrounding forest during the ceremony. Some of the trees were even holding onto their bright orange leaves.
The entire ceremony was so sweet, from the flower girl tossing bright leaves down the aisle, to the special moment when they took the time to thank their parents. The officiant also had the best radio voice!
While the wedding party took photos, we all headed into the banquet hall for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
I was lucky to get seated with the best table! I’ve known these ladies for 14 years, since we all started high school together.
The centrepieces were pumpkins filled with beautiful flowers and greens. Reminded me of my own Pumpkin Arrangements at Thanksgiving this year.
The table markers were little chalkboard plaques, which reminded me of a late night painting session in high school when Kim and I painted film clapboards for a semi formal we were decorating. I love chalkboards in wedding decor!
For a little light, they used mini pumpkins as votive holders. The father of the bride drilled the centers out of the pumpkins and then the stuck tealights inside. They looked fantastic as the sun started to go down.
For favours, they made homemade caramel apples with a cute little tag. Everyone was itching to open them at the table! Garrett and I saved ours to slice up at home and it was a lovely treat on Sunday night. I hadn’t had one in ages and forgot how good they are.
It was so great to see Kim so happy. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress and I loved how our friend Ashley did her hair (she is the hairdresser for just about everyone in our group, and you can see why!)
The whole evening was a great chance to catch up with old friends and hear about what they’ve been up to lately.
