New Years

2012: A Year in Review

I can’t believe that another year has come and gone already! One of the things that I love about having a blog, is that I’m able to go back through all my posts from the year and see all the things we were up to. Here is a quick recap of some of my favourite posts from every month. Just looking through it all has me itching to work on some new ideas for 2013!

JANUARY

After months of dealing with limited bathroom storage, we got busy installing shelves on the wall.

My craft supplies were getting a bit out of hand – so a complete overhaul was in order.

We got many gorgeous holiday house plants after we moved in, so I took the time to replant them into new all year round containers.

We finally made and installed our bathroom hooks, and did a big bathroom reveal!
I love the way that the bathroom hooks turned out, and they only cost us $3.75 to make!

Updated the couch for spring, creating some new throw pillows to match the couch cushions.
Garage Sale Hunting season began, and we found this great dresser for only $15.

My mother and I made buttercream cupcakes with real forget-me-nots on them for Victoria Day weekend.

We went to our first wedding for the year – with all of my university roommates.
I celebrated my 27th birthday!
And went to the drive-in with friends. Great friends who surprise you with margarita cupcakes at the drive-in…which prompts all the cars nearby to sing “Happy Birthday”.

We were given a Little Community Garden to take care of this year. We were a wee bit overzealous with the variety of plants we had, but it was a fun summer project to do together.

To help identify all our new plants, I painted some rocks to make Garden Plant Markers

Through Open Doors Ontario, we went on a free tour of the historic Hillary House and Koffler Museum of Medicine, including a really fun photo scavenger hunt.
