Dogs

Five Years with Whiskey the Dog

It’s hard to believe that today marks five years since I first brought Whiskey home. He was just a frail little thing living in a rescue and now he is this vibrant, crazy pup who makes our lives oh so much better.

As you can tell, he’s a huge part of both of our families and we definitely spoil him (which he totally deserves). I’m so glad that he’s been doing really well as a big brother to the new pup, Cola. They are quickly becoming best buds and it makes my heart overflow knowing that they have each other now and that we’re able to give these two little rescue pups the best life that we can.

For Whiskey’s 4th anniversary last year, I made a Nut-Free Dog Birthday Cake with banana “frosting” and bacon “sprinkles”. Tonight I’m going to attempt to make my first batch of homemade dog biscuits, as well as a big pot of his favourite Homemade Dog Food Beef Stew. (Check out posts for his 1st, 2nd and 3rd birthdays/anniversaries too.)
