Gift Ideas Holidays Winter

Baby, Its Cold Outside!

There is definitely a nip in the air right now, and with that comes the need to layer up! There is something about warm cozy sweaters that makes the cold weather just that much more tolerable. Here are some great sweaters that I’ve seen this season, all under $100 and easy to order online.

I love this Fisherman Cable Shawl Collar Sweater from Eddie Bauer ($49.50). There is something so classic about the cable knit sweater, and it looks great in this ivory white colour.

How cute is this Ruffle Cardigan from Banana Republic ($79.50)? You could pair it will a sparkly top and a nice pair of dark jeans for a great casual look for holiday parties. Its also work-friendly and is an easy way to snaz up a shift dress, or a pair of dress pants and a silk camisole.

Now this Bouclé off-the shoulder sweater from Victoria’s Secret ($29) may not be practical for Canadian winters, but would be great for a date night. Its soft and cozy, and is form-fitting for a very flattering look. A nice textured sweater without all the bulk.

This Chunky Cable Toggle Cardigan from L.L. Bean ($99) would be perfect for layering with a nice long sleeve tee, or even a turtleneck for colder days. Its much lighter than it looks, so it doesn’t add alot of bulk to your frame. It comes in a beautiful red colour, that is sure to look festive while you’re doing your holiday shopping.

The first thing that caught my eye on this open-knit cowl sweater from GAP ($59.50) is the unique pattern of the knit. Its has geometric look to it, and with the vertical lines it has a very flattering slimming effect, while still being cozy and warm.

Maybe its my Scottish roots, but there is something about Fair Isle that just gets to me every time. The colourful patterns, and playful designs are so inviting. This Fair Isle Shawl Collar Cardigan from Eddie Bauer ($99) has a beautiful intricate pattern, and the oversized collar gives makes it great for chilly days. Fair Isle is an easy way to add some colour to otherwise dull winter outfits.

What is your favorite sweater style? Something big and cozy to curl up with, lighted and fitted with jeans or something alittle more structured to wear to the office?
