Everywhere I’ve been shopping lately, I keep finding teal. Don’t get me wrong. I love the colour. Especially when it is a washy blue green shade like the ocean. While browsing through Etsy I came across many interesting and intriguing pieces that let you add this subtle colour in unique ways. Here are a few that caught my eye:
This greeny teal Fluorite Teradrip Sterling Silver Necklace by Sterling Roses Design ($25.50) is simple, yet charming. The stunning, semi-transucent green fluorite briolette, wrapped in sterling silver wire, reminds me of the sea glass that we’d pick up on the beach as children.
This iPod/iPhone sleeve is not just teal, its green too, as it is made of leftover furniture upholstery that was headed for the dump. Made by Rockitbot ($13), the outside is soil resistant, while the inside is lined with felt to prevent scratches.
If I could justify the wall space, this would already be enroute to my house right now. Artist Maria-Thérèse Andersson from Härnösand, Sweden took this beautiful photograph of a 19th century carousel in Paris. ($25). I recently read the latest Jennifer Crusie/Bob Mayer book Wild Ride about a theme park haunted by demons and this is evoking all the emotions I felt reading that. Of a different place. A different time. Can’t you hear that carousel music playing just looking at it?
