Summer

Happy Fourth of July!

Although I’m 100% Canadian, I’ve spent many a roadtrip through the United States and have many very dear friends who live South of the border, so it wouldn’t seem right not give a shout out to all my American neighbours today. Happy Fourth of July!

I love Shooter Jennings, so you just know that I’ll be humming this song all day.

And of course this week I happen to be on Martha Stewart’s website and saw all the fantastic red, white and blue dessert ideas that she had up.

I may have already eaten a Canada Day Cake this weekend, but I’d have been happy to dig into this Martha Stewart Flag Sheet Cake with raspberry stripes and blueberry stars.
Or how about some Red, White and Blue Parfaits…because everyone loves parfaits, right? 😉
Even a simple cupcake can be gussed up to be like these cute Flag Cupcakes. All it takes is some coloured icing and a bit of red string licorice.

But I would have to say that the dessert I would most like to dig into is this American Flag Tart. I’d just like it if someone else went through all the trouble to make it 😉

And on one final note…

Hope that you all have a great Fourth of July, with lots of goodies
and hopefully some BBQ’d hot dogs too 😉
