Summer

The Joys of a Roadside Stand

Summer is a time to enjoy fresh produce at its best, and what better than a good old fashioned roadside stand! I came across this one while driving back from a trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake and I was mesmerized by the selection. Big baskets full of plums, peppers, tomatoes, beans, garlic, cherries, peaches, the list goes on! I especially loved this one for the big fruit baskets you could buy for $8.00 – loaded with a little bit of everything.

Do you have fruit stands or farmers markets do you? Are you taking full advantage of the summer’s crop this year?

Hellz yes… we need one of those chest freezers, because I’m squirreling away a little bit of everything that makes it to the kitchen
