Date at the Drive-In

Last weekend, the boyfriend, Whiskey and I jumped in the car and headed to one of our favorite places…

 the Drive-In!

We’ve both been coming here since we were kids and love it! Now its nice to be able to share that tradition together.

It was Whiskey’s first time going there, so we thought we’d take him for a little walk around the place before the show.

There were so many lush green fields around the drive-in. All this rain must be doing something!

There is still a little building in the center of the compound with a great little concession stand.

The whole place smells like this popcorn. So good!

Everyone loves the old arcade games, but I cracked up when I took this photo and saw that it was all adults playing right now. It looks like its just as fun for the “young at heart” as it is for the kiddos.

I love this series of photos that the boyfriend caught. This is the go-to-move Whiskey and me….he does a long run up my knees and I pull him in for a big kiss on the side of his head. He usually returns the favour with one on my nose 🙂

This is what we call his Princess Leia look, when his ears flip back.

As it started to get darker, we headed back to the car to get ready for the movies.

We loaded up on junk food and Diet Coke…there may have been a little bit of undocumented rum in there too 😉

Whiskey started pulling out all his cute tricks in an attempt to get a chip.

“Just a little one please!”

The boyfriend gave him a stern talking to about not stealing any candy. Despite those ears being up, I can guarantee that he is playing ignorant to every word.

Less than 15 minutes later he was out for the count. Poor little guy had a busy weekend of play fighting, firework avoidance and treat begging. The second he burrowed himself into the blankets he was a goner for the rest of the night.

Soon the movie was starting and we settled in for the show. We ended up seeing the new Pirates of the Caribbean first (good!) and Something Borrowed next (did not like), but in the end we went home before the last film, I Am Number Four started.

It was a great date night with love and we’re sure we’ll be back again this summer!
Do you have a Drive-In in your area?
They seem to be less common all the time, which is a shame because they are SO much fun!

What great photos! We have a couple drive-ins nearby but I have never gone. I’ve always wanted to…especially after seeing all the fun you guys had. Hope you have a great weekend!
P.S. The boyfriend and Whiskey seem to get along fantastically! I always trust a guy that gets along with my pup. 🙂
