Kitchen

Can’t Wait to Get Cooking!

The past few weeks I have been house sitting for my parents while I’ve been getting familiar with my new job. While I’ve been hanging out with Whiskey and Shadow every evening, they’ve been traveling around Savannah, Georgia taking in all the sights. These days you can’t go to Savannah without hearing about one very popular local resident…
Miss Paula Deen!
Yes, the Queen of Butter herself. My parents are well aware of my love of all things related to the kitchen and brought me back a bag full of goodies from her store.
The first thing I pulled out of the bag were these adorable gift tags.
“Let’s Eat Y’all!”
There was also this great big French Rolling Pin. The angle of it is supposed to make it easier to get perfectly even pie crusts. I can’t wait to try it out!
There were also cute new tea towels for my new kitchen (which happens to be a dark wood colour.)
My mother even treated herself to some new wooden spatulas after Shadow destroyed her old ones.
They took a peek into Paula’s restaurant, The Lady and Sons, but you have to line up at 8am just to book an evening reservation! Maybe next time we’re there we’ll be able to try it out. For now I’m just going to stick with these goodies they brought me back and keep adding “more butter”!
