Autumn Fashion

Fall Wardrobe Ideas

Late last night I decided to change things up on the ol’ blog and give it some fun Fall decor. What do you guys think?

With the coming of Autumn there is also the great excuse for some fun new additions to the wardrobe. Maybe its that Back-to-School feeling, but I always get that itch to get a few new outfits. Below are some ideas I’ve come across that caught me eye. I’m not endorsing these companies, just admiring the ideas and hoping that I can find ways to incorporate them into my wardrobe!

Sweaters are an absolute essential during the colder months and these Fall colours combined with a flirty asymmetrical hem make this long cardigan a great find. (Victoria’s Secret The Flirty Cardi Sweater $49.50-69.50)

I’m also a fan of more traditional styles like fisherman’s cable, cowl neck and turtlenecks. These sweaters above are all fun modern twists on these classics.

(Victoria’s Secret Cable-knit Tunic Sweater $59.50; Angora $88; Angel Boucle Turtleneck $49.50)

Gap The Perfect Shirt $49.50

Aside from my favorite black long sleeve t-shirt, my second favourite top of choice is this fitted black collared shirt. This looks great paired with a lovely cardigan or even on its own.

L.L.Bean Signature Plaid Wool Pencil Skirt $129

I’m usually a dark jeans kinda gal, but there is something ultra feminine about a perfect pencil skirt. Add in a fun plaid pattern and you have a great Fall wardrobe must have.

Another fun feminine look is a chic dress with black tights and heels. It looks great without having to freeze when the weather gets chillier.

I am really digging the new Mad Men Collection at Banana Republic, especially this Lace Dress ($130). Its a great 2011 take on the 60’s style.

JCrew Marlow Hobo $298

This is a great all-purpose carryall, especially for a girl like me who seems to have the need to throw everything into one bag.

JCrew Takeaway Tote $68

For something a little more durable, I like this waxed cotton canvas bag with brass studs. It has a bit of a military inspired feel to it and would look great with any casual look.

 JCrew Brompton Hobo $298

For something a little warmer, I’d go with this slouchy hobo bag, which would be great all year round.

Roots Jacqueline Tote Rustler $268

If I was looking for something a little smaller, I’d go with this Canadian made leather tote from Roots. It has a simple design but a great looking finish.

Boots. Oh how I love thee. I just wish they fit my calves better. I have two pairs that I love and wear as much as I can in the Fall and Winter, but if I were to get another pair it would be something like this with a low heel and textured look.

For something with a bit more of a heel, I’d go with one of these western influenced boots. They are slightly distressed for that fresh off the ranch look, but are still sleek enough for the city. (Aldo Kalfa Boots $180; Ingwell Boot $90)

For something a little more everyday, I like these modern-day biker boots that lose their edge with a soft beige suede. (Aldo Niece Boots $170). Alternatively, if I was looking for something a little more dressy, I’d lean towards something like this suede bootie. I haven’t been a big fan of booties the past few years, but they’re starting to grow on me. They also look great for that boots-under-jeans look, without all the bulk of a taller boot. (Aldo Qualheim Boots $100)

Aldo Duffey Shoes $90

Every woman should own at least one pair of pointy dress pumps that work well with any outfit. This low heel tan version is very feminine and still stylish. It also helps tall girls like me not tower over everyone when they wear heels.

Børn® Davina Mary Janes $110

For something a little more stylish, I like these fun oxfords, which would look great paired with black tights. A bonus is that Børn makes super comfortable shoes with a shock-absorbing rubber sole.

Banana Republic Mad Men Collection Leopard Print Trench $198

I keep finding myself coming back to the Mad Men collection at Banana Republic, especially this Leopard Print Trench. It has a great 1960s feminine silhouette, but with a little 21st century kick.

Victoria’s Secret Military Coat $178

Another classic look is the military coat, with its double-breasted style and thick wool layers to keep you extra warm (and stylish) during the colder months.

If money were not an issue and I could choose any coat, I’d go with the Burberry Toggle Front Duffle Coat ($895!) as seen here by Amanda Peet. I love the cut, the length and of course those awesome buttons!

What styles and looks are you loving for Fall?
