Lately I’ve just been toasting oats in a pan to make my favourite Baked Apple Breakfast Bowl, but I decided it was about time to try and make my own granola.
This recipe was super easy to make and it made plenty of granola to share with friends and family in cute little jars.
What you’ll need:
- 3 cups of uncooked oatmeal
- 1 cup wheat germ
- 1 cup of dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, apricots, cherries)
- 3/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- optional: 1 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pecans)
Transfer to a large baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake for 325°F for 35-45 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
I’m looking forward to add this onto my morning yogurt or as a crunchy topping to my oatmeal!
