Apartment Decor

A New Headboard

Slowly but surely we’ve been making little changes here and there in the new apartment. Its finally starting to feel like a real home and I love it.

One of the first challenges we faced was putting up the headboard.

We originally were going to use the one from the old apartment, but then we found out that we can’t mount it to the wall like it was before. You can see it resting there against the wall (along with the screen from the window, that we have yet to take the time to put in).

As luck would have it, we were able to find a new headboard this week….for free! It was in a pile of stuff at work that everyone was donating to Goodwill. If you wanted something from the pile you just had to donate $20 to our local charity, which I was going to do anyways. So really, we got the headboard for free and I absolutely love it.

When we had it flipped over to install it, I found a tag that shows its actually from Pier One. I looked it up online and it was originally $350! Wow! I’m so glad that we came across it!

So this is what the bedroom looks like right now. We still need to find a home for the old headboard, find some new bedside lamps and install that screen in the window. Some new bed linens would be nice too!
