Christmas Decor Family

Holiday Home with the Family

This weekend I’m headed to my parents’ house to kick off the holiday season! My sister and brother both finished their exams at university yesterday and are headed home, so it will finally start to feel like Christmas with them back. We also have our youngest cousin visiting for our annual little pre-Christmas sleepover with her. I look forward to it every year (and an excuse to watch kids’ movies without any weird looks).

My mother has been working hard to get the whole house ready for Christmas and its looking great.

There are even a few gifts already under the tree. How adorable are these presents from my great aunt? The shopping bags that The Bay used this year were very simple and classic this year, so she decided to just use them as the gift bag and just add some bows, bells and a cute rustic ornament. Don’t they look great?

I also gave my mom her present a bit early this year because I wanted her to have it for the holidays. Its a hooked pillow similar to the ones you find at Pottery Barn. I just knew I had to get it for her when I saw the poinsettia pattern that went well with the rest of her decor in the living room.

The rest of the house has little festive touches too – like these silver and gold tones in the nook.

Even the basement bathroom got a little face lift! I have always loved that she puts little touches here and there, so you find them all day long. I popped in my old bedroom to put something away and even found a little pink poinsettia set out for my sister and I. My mother really is the sweetest.

And it wouldn’t be home if she wasn’t making something – mini quiches this time.

I’m off to have a lovely little Saturday with the family and then it’s back to shopping, wrapping, baking and getting everything else ready at my apartment too. I can hardly believe that it’s only a week until Christmas Eve!
