Day 6: Replanting the House Plants

At our housewarming party in December, my friend Amy gave me this beautiful Christmas planter which I loved all through the holidays. The plants were still doing well, but I needed to change the planter and I wanted to keep the original one for next Christmas.
I dug out some of my smaller pots from the closet and got to work replanting the three plants that were doing the best. I placed a layer of stones in the bottom for drainage, added the plant on top and then used dirt from the original planter to fill in each pot.
The beautiful ivy went on the new bathroom shelves.
Another plant went on the TV stand and the third one is sitting on the microwave stand for now until I can find somewhere else to put it.
I also have this cute little arrangement sitting on our dining room table, which I made for our dinner party this past weekend. I bought a $20 bouquet from the store and then used it to make several arrangements for around the house.

Including this little arrangement for the living room bookcase. I love the spring colours!
We were also given a couple of sweet plants by our friends this weekend, which liven up the place.
Combined with the unseasonably warm weather we had this weekend, these little daffodils have me thinking that its already spring.
The other plant we received is this gorgeous orchid. I’ve never had one but have always wanted one, so it was a lovely surprise.
I love the vibrant colour and all the delicate flowers. I just hope that my black thumb doesn’t kill it!
