Outdoors Spring

Officially Springtime

I know I’ve said it about a dozen times over the past week, but I am crazy about this amazing weather we’re having. As soon as I get home from work, I want to go outside for a walk and even when I’m back home I want all the windows open in the dining room with the evening light streaming in. Last night I watched Once Upon A Time (love that show) at the dining room table, painting Easter eggs, with the light pouring in. It was the perfect way to decompress after a busy work day.

But before that, we went on a walk through our neighbourhood to explore some areas we’d never been to. I started to see so many little plants sprouting in gardens along the way. I guess the plants are happy for Spring too!

Despite having walked past this house many times, I never really noticed it until now.

I just happened to stop in front of it (to let Whiskey mark his 100th tree on the walk) and I caught a peak of this beautifully styled front porch. Between the vintage house number sign, wicker star, old pew style bench and lovely grey-blue exterior wall, this porch was so inviting.

I also loved the little rain boots tucked in beside a retro-style recycling bin.

It actually looked very similar to these tea tins I found at Home Outfitters last week. Great retro kitchen look, which I’d like to incorporate to my place someday.

I also loved the sweet mini daffodils they had planted out front. Signs of life, my friends! Spring is officially here.

Our walk inspired me to come home and plant something of my own. It’s an Easter surprise that I’ll share with you soon, as long as it doesn’t suffer the fate of many a houseplant around here. I can’t wait until the weather stays nice and I can start to grow a little garden again, like I did at the old apartment. Outdoor plants are so much easier than indoor plants – they can fend for themselves a bit!
