I hope you all had a lovely weekend! It rained and rained and rained here. Which was good because all the plants really needed a good shower and now the grass is greener than ever. But it wasn’t so fun for those of us who wanted to go outside. Kayaking and bike riding was replaced with a family movie date and catching up on laundry. Fingers crossed that the sun is back by next weekend!
On Friday I posted this picture of our current menu for the week on Instagram and I got a few emails about where I got the printable template in the frame.

It came from a guest post done by Creative Index for Delighted Momma. You can download the templates here. I picked the utensil template on the left and just slipped it into an 8×10 wood frame I had kicking around. I used whiteboard markers, but you can also use chalkboard markers too.
I hung it up in the kitchen between the spice racks and towel rack. The perfect spot to check while I’m inspecting the fridge for ingredients.
Garrett loves to be able to see what we’re having in advance. It will probably change as the week goes on, but it’s a good starting point. I’m hoping that once things get a little less hectic (we’ve got a busy two weeks coming up!), I’d like to start planning our menu the week in advance on Saturdays, once we’ve hit up the farmer’s market.
I’m really starting to love this cozy little spot in our kitchen. It makes this tiny little space much more functional.
Over on the fridge we are still posting invites, notices and cute pictures, as well as the grocery list on my new Martha Stewart decal I put up a little while ago.
It really is helpful when I am trying to do the shopping list for the week and I see what we’ve run out or any requests (“Bounty Bars” is a common item on the list these days).
I’ve really been slacking in the creativity department in the kitchen these days. I don’t know if its the lingering affect of not having a kitchen for a week last month, but I keep feeling like I’m making the same things over and over. Time to spice things up!

Great idea! I have a MS dry erase board on the back of my cookbook cabinet door. Love them!!
