Evening Bike Ride

Tonight me and Garrett went for a bike ride around our neighbourhood. When we got back I noticed two things:

1) We really do live in a beautiful town, where the majority of the people take good care of their homes.
2) Bike rides take longer when you have to stop and take pictures of said beautiful homes (Thank you Garrett for your everlasting patience with this shutterbug)
3) I have an unwavering love of old homes, in all their shapes and sizes. Even those that are made new to look old.

I love large homes full of grandier
and sweet little bungalows.
I love houses in slate grey

and houses in olive green.

I love large thick columns

and delicate gingerbread trim.

I love stained glass windows

and shaded front lawns.

I love farmhouses

and town homes.

I love red shutters
and front porches for reading.
I love fields of black eyed susans

and clusters of cosmos (the flower of my late grandfather).

I never get tired of bike rides in our town.

Especially when we run into new friends like this little fella. He was quite concerned about me photographing near his tree.

Hope you’re all having a lovely evening yourselves! Now I’m off to snuggle in bed with Whiskey and read my book. A perfect evening at home if you ask me 🙂
