Waiting for the Weekend to Begin

I’ve been fighting a cold all week, combined with working long hours, so there hasn’t been much cooking in our house this week. Garrett made an awesome beef stew in the crockpot and we’ve been living off of that for days. It was so good that I’ve begged him to make it again next week.

As soon as I get home from work tonight, I’m hoping to curl up on the couch with Whiskey, a box of tissues, ginger ale (my sick day drink of choice) and some kind of romantic comedy. Maybe You’ve Got Mail or The Love Letter. Have you ever seen that one? It is one of those movies that I never heard of when it came out, but found it in a used video bin for $1 years later. Turned out to be a really fun find.

I’m hoping I’ll feel better by Saturday morning, but at the very least I need to be better on Sunday…because it is St. Patrick’s Day!

Then I’ll be making a loaf of my favourite Irish Soda Bread. It’s a St. Patrick’s Day tradition.

Whiskey and his favourite leprechaun toy…who has since lost all the hair in his beard.
I hope that you all have a wonderful (green) weekend.
