Wedding

Wedding Venue Booked!

We’ve hardly even been engaged two weeks and we already have our wedding venue booked. Look out May 2014!

Neither of us were planning to book a place so soon into this wedding planning process, but we quickly learned that finding a venue that could fit our guest list, be reasonably priced and have the atmosphere we were looking for was harder than we expected. After a week of making phone calls and finding out that every place we liked was fully booked, we were starting to think it wouldn’t happen within 2014.

Then my mother and I recalled a venue that we went to a few years ago for a fundraiser. We drove by and peeked in the windows to see if it was as nice as we remembered. When I called, it turned out to be not only within our budget, but could also fit our entire guest list and they had availability next Spring. We took it right away, met two days later with our deposit and we were on our way.

Now that we have the hardest part out of the way, I’m not stressed about this wedding at all. Eight months is plenty of time to plan it and you know we’ll be doing lots of DIY projects along the way. With a clear date and time frame of when to do everything, I feel like I can relax now and really enjoy our engagement.

The grounds of the venue are beautiful. There are so many bushes and trees that will be in full bloom next spring.

And the area around it is gorgeous, with a horse farm just down the lane way. They even have an old barn for photos. We couldn’t ask for anything more perfect. I don’t want to show pictures of the interior because it was decorated for someone else’s wedding, but I’m sure I’ll share lots of pictures as we go.
