Yesterday was the first day of Spring, which should have been cause for celebration, if it hadn’t been snowing on and off all day. Despite the chilly weather, I’m determined to open the windows this weekend and air the apartment out while I get started on spring cleaning. Even if it means I do it with my winter coat on.
It always feels good to purge the things we don’t need, get rid of the dust and freshened up every room. I’ll be cranking up some music on Songza (love their playlists), putting on my paint splattered yoga pants with my camp t-shirt from 2001 and getting right into it. That is…until I get distracted by an old stack of magazines and then realize 3 hours have passed with only a handful of things thrown out. Progress!
Before I head off onto a weekend of cleaning (so exciting, right?), here are some Friday Favourites!

Spring Cleaning for your Car: I’ve shared how I clean my car before, but I when I read Erin’s tips on how she made her previously owned Tahoe look new again, it inspired me to do some touch ups on our vehicles. As soon as the weather is reasonably above freezing, of course. Sometimes not-so-new cars just need a little extra lovin’ to look great again.
Easter Fun: Can you believe Easter is only a month away? I can’t get over how adorable these little Mini Easter Egg Treat Boxes are. Love the patterns on the boxes. You’ve done it again Oh Happy Day!
More Easter Fun: These free printable Easter Egg Stickers from Fellow Fellow are another nice touch you can add to your springtime treats. The little bunnies are my favourite.
Must See Instagram: I happened upon Benjamin Hole’s instagram account this week, which shares the life of a farm in the Isle of Purbeck, England. With images and videos of chickens, pigs, newborn spring lambs and a curious pup, it’s hard not to get sucked into going through all the pictures.
Hooked on Hooks: Earlier this week, John & Sherry Petersik from Young House Love announced their new line of decorative hooks exclusively at Target. As soon as I saw this white chihuahua hook, I knew we had to get it for Whiskey’s leashes. Even though he’s only part chihuahua, that perky ear silhouette looks just like him!
Photobooth Pups: Speaking of cute pooches, have you seen these photo booth images of dogs by photographer Lynn Terry? Put two pitbulls in a photo booth and apparently they make funny faces, goofy smiles and steal smooches like the rest of us.
Springtime Sunglasses: After a trip to the optometrist this week, I realized I needed some new computer glasses and decided to check out Warby Parker. While I was on there, I checked out their prescription sunglasses. I love their fun frames and it was agony trying to pick just one. In the US, they have a service where they will send you 5 frames and you can try them on before you pick one, but here we just have to use the virtual try-on (I used several photos to get an idea of how each fit) and cross my fingers that they fit when they get here.
Inspiring Journey: I’m always a fan of time lapse videos and this one by Christoph Rehage is a fun and interesting look at one man’s journey from Beijing, China to his home in Germany.

I can’t wait to be able to open all the windows in my house! It’s still -20 tonight (with the wind).
