Tropical Greek Yogurt Creamsicles

We’re continuing on our honeymoon and are in beautiful Savannah, Georgia today! Everywhere we’ve gone has been very hot and we’re loving the warmer weather, but it does mean that we need to find ways to keep cool. Looking at these photos I took before we left, I’m wishing we could have some of these popsicles now!

Remember when I posted about the Frozen Greek Yogurt Drops I made a couple of weeks ago? While I was making those, I decided to use up the last of the yogurt to make these creamsicles too. They turned out soooo good…and they were really easy. The greek yogurt makes them extra creamy and the tropical fruit adds lots of flavour. A perfect summertime treat.

They also have no added sugar – aside from that in the juice and the fruit. If you like it sweeter, you can add a little honey. I have to admit that I even had one of these for breakfast one morning.

tropical-greek-yogurt-creamsiclesI used our magic bullet blender that I made my morning smoothies in. I filled it up about halfway with a mixture of frozen fruit. This one was a tropical blend of mango, pineapple, strawberries and peaches.

Add in a big dollop of plain greek yogurt, a splash of orange juice and some honey if you’d like it sweeter. Make sure to leave enough room at the top for the mixture to whip around in the blender.

Add on the blender blades and whirl the mixture in 30-45 second intervals until it is blended.

Pour the mixture into popsicle molds.

Pop in the freezer for at least 4 hours.

To loosen a popsicle out of the mold, run hot tap water over the outside of the mold and it will pop out after a few seconds.
