Friday Favourites – Wild Afternoon at IKEA

Happy Friday! Today’s post comes a little later than normal because I’ve been on a mission today. Garrett and I were both off early so we decided to make the trek to IKEA. We went with a big list – bookshelves for the dining room, storage solutions for the basement, curtain rods for upstairs and of course the big couch debate. I’m blogging this from the comfort of the passenger seat while Garrett drives. We’re going to start unpacking everything once we get home and I can hardly wait!

I always love seeing what displays they come up with. It gives me inspiration on how to rearrange the things we have to make the most of the space.

How lovely is this soft bedroom look? It got me thinking about how to decorate our guest room. We already have this duvet cover and I love the cozy layered look. (Although maybe not with those out of place nightstands on the side.)

On a closer inspection, I noticed that they have the buttons at the top! I always put them at the bottom, but they actually look quite cute this way.

I have yet to setup my home office or a craft area yet and this got me thinking about how to organize that space. Having a room to work on projects (even if it’s just a corner of the guest room for now) would be so nice.

We’ve been on the hunt the last couple of weeks for a new couch for the living room and after looking at a few furniture stores, we decided to take a look at IKEA while we were there. Garrett was happy to be the comfort tester while I debated fabrics. I’ll share our final results soon.

I’m so glad we had the forethought to borrow my parents’ truck! We’ve load this thing to the gills.

I could not fit one more small basket or knick knack in there even if I tried. The doors actually had to be forced shut to fit everything!

Of course we just happened to finish up right in the middle of rush hour (and long weekend cottage traffic!) but it was a good excuse to have a celebratory dinner out together. Cheers to the long weekend!

Hope it’s a great one!

Haha, I love how the last few times you’ve posted about going to Ikea, Garrett always take a seat on the couches. He has the right idea. I love going into Ikea myself, it’s so easy to get lost in there and mesmerized by all the displays. Can’t wait to see the new couch! Hope you guys have a lovely long weekend!

Ha! He really does make a beeline for the couches as soon as we get there. I don’t know if it’s because they’re comfy…or because I take to long to shop there.
