Welcome to Life at Cloverhill! {new name + new look}

Today marks the first day under my new blog name “Life at Cloverhill”! For five years and nine months, I’ve wrote under the name “Small Home Big Start” and while it suited my lifestyle when we were apartment dwellers, it just wasn’t working for me anymore. Not only were we not living in a small home anymore, but I was dealing with some issues where sites were copying my material and just slightly changing my name. My personal favourite was “Large Dwelling, Tiny Beginnings”. Maybe I should have gone with that, ha!

After months of going back and forth on name ideas (huge thank you to all the readers, family and friends who helped!), the name came to me while we talked about what we were going to name our land. Old farmhouses and homesteads need a name (at least I like to think they do), and when you look around our property the ground is covered in red clover. Farmers have used it for years as a good ground cover between crops to help rejuvenate the soil. And that’s what we’re doing here – restoring and rejuvenating this great big old farmhouse and making it into the home we’ve always dreamed of.

Blogging originally started as a hobby for me and has since turned into a passion. Whenever I can carve out time, I still love writing about a variety of homemaking topics including décor, DIY projects, crafts, recipes, travel and our day-to-day life. Creating new projects and developing delicious recipes is what makes me get up in the morning. It isn’t uncommon for me to wake up two hours before work so that I can put just one last layer of paint on a newly acquired dresser – and I love every minute of it!

 

In the coming weeks there will be regular new features and updates as I work out all the kinks. If you find something that needs fixing or doesn’t look right, please feel free to shoot me an email!
