I only picked up my camera a few times to take pictures over Thanksgiving weekend, so it was funny when I loaded my pictures last night and realized I’d only taken pictures of empty rooms and tables, haha! I guess I was having such a good time when people were around, that I didn’t catch them. Contrary to what the next few photos show, we did have a nice weekend full of time spent with family.
Saturday evening we headed over to my aunt and uncle’s cottage for a cozy Thanksgiving. With the crackling fire and the whole house smelling amazing, it was a warm welcome.
Some of our family members couldn’t make it due travel plans abroad, but for the rest of us it was a great night of good food and conversation (even if it did stray to talks about the upcoming federal election from time to time).
That night some of my grandparents stayed at the farmhouse as our first overnight guests. It was nice to share our house with others for a night. The next morning I got up and made some muffins and coffee before they headed back on the road.
Sunday afternoon we headed over to my parents’ for another Thanksgiving dinner with just my family. There was only eight of us there, but my mom pulled all the stops. When we were absolutely stuffed, we started to watch the Toronto Blue Jays game. As tired as we were, we had to stay up and see them beat the Texas Rangers in game three of the ALDS and then they tied the series on Monday afternoon, which means we find out on Wednesday if our hometown heroes will be in the World Series!
On Monday morning two of my university roommates came by for a visit with their adorable babies. It was so much fun to catch up with them and see the little ones interact together. Now that we’re all back in the same province, I hope we can do more of these visits together!
Both mamas and babies approved of the leftover muffins, along with Butternut Squash Soup for lunch and Applesauce for dessert.
For the most part, the girls got along really well, but of course as soon as I tried to take a couple pictures of them together, the tears came out. Such cuties.

This week is a quick one because very soon I’ll be heading to this year’s Blissdom conference! It’s been two years since I’ve been to it and I can’t wait to see some fellow bloggers and learn more about the industry. I can’t wait!
