I first started sending out Christmas cards when I moved into my little apartment in Toronto. I’d just began living on my own and it was a great way to connect with everyone during the busy holiday season.
Since then it’s become an annual tradition that Garrett and I do together. I look forward to updating our Christmas Card List every year using my Online Holiday Planner and I love the ritual of sitting down together and listening to Christmas music while writing out cards to loved ones. People have been sending out Christmas cards for 172 years and I love to continue that tradition.
Then there is the excitement of finding cards in our own mailbox from family and friends. We spend so much of our time online all year, but when the holiday season comes around it’s nice to have something real and tangible to hold on to. We display the cards every year and then tuck them away with the Christmas decorations. I love having these memories to go back to year after year.
I’m really excited about sending out our own card this year because it’s the first one time I’m doing custom cards with photos. We setup a tripod and snapped a few photos around the property. Here are some tips from a professional photographer on how to get great family photos for your holiday card.
With all the stunning designs from Minted’s holiday stationary collection and it was so hard to narrow it down to just one card. You can customize your card with different backer options, more photos and text. Their community of independent artists from around the world have come up with some beautiful designs that are right on trend with the 2015 holiday season – hand drawn patterns, geometric, bold colour patterns and luxurious letterpress.
They even have holiday cards with real-foil pressed designs in gold, silver and rose gold. With their high-quality paper and printing, these cards will be a lovely surprise in anyone’s mailbox.
One of the features I’m most excited about is the matching envelope designs and recipient addressing (which is free for a limited time). Not only does it save me time writing out all the addresses, but it makes the cards look beautiful inside and out. Minted is known for their high-quality paper and printing.
Minted also has a variety of stationary, art and home decor that make great holiday gifts too. One of the first pieces of artwork I hung up at the farmhouse was a big print from their art collection. We get compliments on the print and it’s barn board frame all the time.
