One of the best parts of the holiday season is sending and receiving Christmas cards. With one month left until Christmas, there is still time to send out beautiful cards that will delight everyone on your list. My favourite are the foil-pressed and letterpress cards from Minted! Not sure where to start? Here is my Ultimate Holiday Card Checklist with everything you need to send out yours on time!
✓ Write a List of Who You’d Like to Send
Make a list of everyone you’d like to send cards to – family, friends, colleagues, neighbours and your favourite service providers (hairdresser, veterinarian, family doctor, etc).
✓ Update Address Book
Now that you’ve made your list, go through and update information that has changed since last year. Look up postal codes with Canada Post and zip codes with USPS. Don’t forget to make any changes due to marriages or births!
✓ Take a Photo
Go through and pick your favourite photos from the year or take a new one for the holidays. Set up a tripod and take your own, do a professional mini shoot or ask a friend to stop by and take your pic.
✓ Choose a Design
Picking what card we’ll send is my favourite part, but also the hardest – there are just too many ideas to choose from! Minted has hundreds of designs created by artists around the world. It’s super easy to pick a card using their Find It Fast feature.
You upload a picture and it will populate all the card options with your image. It’s quick and easy to see how your image looks with all the newest trends!
✓ Input your addresses into Minted
I LOVE Minted‘s free recipient addressing service. It saves me so much time addressing the cards. I simply input the addresses and they add them to the cards. Once you input them into your Minted address book, you can use them anytime you send out holiday cards, birth announcements and invitations.
✓ Order Your Cards – don’t forget to add envelope liners and a return address
Ordering the cards is quick and easy, and there are some beautifully matched additions you can add to make your cards look luxe! The envelope liners add a lovely pop of colour or sparkle inside the envelope and the return addresses (either printed or as a wraparound sticker) not only save you time but add a nice finishing touch!
✓ Buy Stamps
Don’t forget to get stamps for your international cards too!
✓ Add a personal touch
With Minted, you can add a written message, extra images or even a timeline of this year’s highlights.
✓ Send them out. check delivery dates
You want to get your cards out early enough that the recipients can display them on the mantel or hang them from a garland. For international cards, it’s best to send them out at least three weeks ahead and domestic should be out no later than Dec 19.
