Baby

Welcome Home Rosie!

Garrett, Lucy and I are very happy to announce the arrival of…

Rosemary “Rosie” Anne

She was born just before midnight on Saturday October 13th, ten days before her due date. Rosie came in at 7lb 12oz and 19.5 inches long, smaller than her big sister Lucy, which isn’t surprising considering there were 17 days between their deliveries. I never thought I’d be having her early after being a week late last time but it’s been so nice to finally have her here.

The question everyone seems to ask is “How is Lucy doing with all this?”. She is absolutely smitten with her Baby Rosie and Lucy is constantly checking on her, wanting to tuck her in, read her stories and help with diaper changes. Suddenly overnight my little Lucy feels like such a big girl and I can’t believe how fast the two and a half years has flown by since she was just a little newborn herself. It really makes me want to savour these early days with Rosie and enjoy our time settling into a family of four.

It still blows my mind to think how lucky we are to now have TWO daughters. Garrett and I both grew up with siblings and it’s something we really wanted Lucy to have as well. We’re only five days into it and it already feels like Rosie was always supposed to be here. I’m getting used to nursing in the wee hours of the morning and itty bitty diaper changes again, along with all the newborn snuggles and super cute baby clothes. The adorable blanket she is wrapped in was a gift from the lovely Canadian company Thimble Theory. It even has her name printed on it – so sweet!

I’ll be popping in to blog when I can in the coming weeks, and at some point I’ll get the gumption to write out Rosie’s birth story. I love being able to look back at Lucy’s birth story and remember that time.

Thank you so much for all your kind words and well wishes on Instagram and Facebook. We’ve read every single comment and appreciate all the love!
