Today the One of a Kind Show begins in Toronto, going until December 6th. More than 800 artisans from across Canada will be showcasing their hand-crafted creations at the Direct Energy Centre at Exhibition Place.
I’m hoping to head over on the weekend and find some fun and unique gifts to give this year. Plus, its always a great feeling to be supporting local artisans, rather than big corporations all the time.
The show includes eco-friendly products, statement jewelery, visual art, food and lots of great fashion. And of course plenty of holiday decorations as well, like this super happy nutcracker above.
There are also several DIY workshops from soap-making to wall-stenciling, and the annual one-of-a-kind teapot competition. My Aunt Barb makes incredibly gorgeous ceramic pottery, and I think I’m going to try and convince her to join the teapot contest next year. I’m not even a big tea drinker, but something about it being poured out of a great teapot just makes it taste that much better. (I also think that pop and beer taste better when they comes out of a can)
The show runs in Toronto Nov 26-Dec 6, Chicago Dec 3-6, and then in New York City from Dec 11-13, so if you are in the area, stop by and take a look!
