Christmas Gift Ideas Holidays

Gift Ideas for Her

With just two weeks left until Christmas Eve, I thought I’d share some gift ideas for the ladies on your list this year.

I wanted to start of this list with one of my favorite gifts out there this year. The “Water is a Human Right” Faucet Necklace ($79), designed by Linda Loudermilk, is a stylish pendant made from reclaimed silver, formed into an old-fashioned faucet with a single glass drop of water.  Loudermilk is passionate about the earth and its people, and is making her mark on the eco-movement with products to inspire people to think about the world around us, and how we can make it better.

Do you know someone who’s New Year’s Resolution is to try new things? Then why not expand their makeup horizons with the Sephora Color Play Palette II Eyeshadow Palette, $24. There are 36 powder eye shadows  12 lip colours, 3 powder blushes, and a bronzer, to help create a different look for everyday of 2010. Its also paraben free and safe for sensitive skin.

Headbands are no longer for little girls and preppy teens. This delicate Bambako “Delight” Headband $22 is chic enough for the young and old to pull off, and adds a nice change to a regular ‘do. There are many different styles out there, and look for colours that compliment the hair colour of the recipient.

Remember those cute Russian matryoshka dolls from when you were little? Bring that whimsical touch into the kitchen with these M Cups ($12). This set of six dry measuring cups are easy to store and fun to use. They’re build from heavy-duty, food-safe, long-life engineering plastic. Be sure to check out the entire line designed by Fred & Friends for great gift ideas and stocking stuffers.

Have a fitness buff on your list in need of a little fun during the slow winter months? Check out the new Wii Fit Plus Bundle ($100), which comes with the game software and the Wii Balance Board. They can change their routine every day, mix and matching workouts, select areas for personal improvement, and testing their skills on a range of games. Its a great way to get the whole family off the couch this winter.

The weather outside may be frightening, but this cozy little Philosophy Winter Escape ($19) trio will be sure to help with the cabin fever. There is a delectable Peppermint Hot Cocoa Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath combo to sweeten a hot bath apres ski, and a light, silky Melting Marshmallow Body Soufflé moisturizer to hydrate dry skin. Top it off with a Melting Marshmallow Lip Shine to pucker up on New Years, and you have makings of a great 2010. This may be the gift that you put under the tree for yourself this year.

Speaking of that chill in the air, give the gift that keeps your loved ones warm. Sweaters may seem like a cliché for holiday gift giving, but they’re also a classic. The trick is to give something more modern like this Lolë Feel Sweater ($120) and steer clear of anything that resembles a Christmas Sweater.

Here is a great little stocking stuffer for a traveler on your list. The On The Go Kit ($10) may look small but inside there is a “mini” emery board, two dental flossers, a sewing kit, a hairband, two adhesive bandages and a stain treating towelette. It really is like the MacGyver of all kits for everything a girl could need when things go wrong away from home.

Need something for the musical fan, TV junkie, or pop culture lover? The one, the only Glee Soundtrack ($16) is now out in stores. Road trippers rejoice…now you can take the show on the road with you!

This delicate and charming Pearl Acorn Necklace ($23) is one of many beautiful pieces you can find at Etsy. This piece is sure to become a treasured heirloom.

And on the topic of jewelry, this Jewelry Roll ($40) from Red Envelope is a fantastic gift for the travelling fashionista in your clan. Its a fantastic way to keep all their jewelry organized while they are on the go, and saves them the trouble of untangling chains when upon arrival.

Does your best friend have a love affair with designer purses, but can never find anything inside? Wrap up one of these super handy Purse Organizer ($20) and maybe she’ll find her wallet next time the lunch bill arrives (or maybe not).

I hope that this list has inspired you for some gift giving ideas, and I would love to hear if you have anything that’s really caught your eye this year. Happy Shopping!

Oh eyeshadow…how I LOVE thee!! Even though I barely have time to shower nowadays – nevermind put on make-up. Ugh!! I suck more than I thought! LOL!
