The best part about being on vacation is that you don’t HAVE to do anything. You don’t have to go to work, do laundry or even cook for yourself if you don’t want to. So with that lack of responsibility comes lots of down time. While we were in Florida, the gang definitely took advantage of that and spent a lot of time just driving around on little shopping adventures (hello flea market!) or just hanging around the house relaxing and pulling pranks on each other (oh the joys of spray kitchen hoses).
On our first day driving around we drove by this perfect example of quality workmanship. Next time my side mirror breaks I’m going to use this guy’s method and just duct tape another one on 😉
Aimlessly walking through Walmart we came across these winners….furlined Crocs. I have a deep hatred of Crocs. I know that people swear that they are the comfiest things, but I really think they make peoples’ feet look like they borrowed some shoes from one of Snow White’s seven dwarfs. So seeing these was like icing on the cake.
Someone was smart enough to bring the DDR mat for Wii, and thus the dance party began. Derail got right into it using his “farmer dance method” – hands hooked in your belt loops and use just one foot to go all around the mat. He became a little obsessed with beating Rihanna’s Disturbia.
Everyone had to get in on it and show off their mad skills. It was like a Duran Duran and Lady Gaga overload.
Someone looks a little tuckered out. A banana, some Natty Light and a little nap in the games room. Vacation time!
Single handedly the best part of takng time to just hang out around the house is that it gave me time to recover from my Spinning Tea Cup injury. Yep, thats right, I pulled my neck on the Spinning Tea Cups at Disney. I made the grave mistake of being the only girl stupid enough in the group to agree to go on them with the two strongest, biggest guys there. I literally had to stand up and shut the little door before I could sit down. They got it going so fast that the Disney staff were giving them high fives as we left. Meanwhile my stomach was doing more somersaults than an Olympic gymnast and by the next morning I could barely move my neck an inch without lots of pain. Thankfully Amy was smart enough to bring an icepack and I just chilled out (literally) until the pain stopped a couple of days later.
All in all, it was a great trip with a great group of people, and the best part is that we brought the sun back with us. It is absolutely gorgeous out in Toronto today and I’m just heading out to take Whiskey for a walk!
Check back later today for a St. Patrick’s Day recipe! 🙂
