Florida Vacation

Florida – Part Two: Theme Park Shenanigans

While I was in Florida we went to Universal Studios in Orlando for some theme park shenanigans. I’m in the film industry, so basically its was like running around in a film geek’s dream. Everywhere I turned I saw stuff that made me flip my lid.
Like Mel’s Drive In from Grease!

The gang took a picture with Shrek and Donkey. Which was great until Donkey smelled my hair and started cracking jokes about Herbal Essence….just a wee bit disturbing coming from an motorized puppet in a box.

Amy and I almost were eaten by one of my greatest childhood fears….JAWS! (This movie is single handedly why it took me 10 years to finally try water skiing)

Derail thought he’d get in on the action too.

I saw a little kid’s jaw drop when he saw this.

Terminator 2 in 3D….soooooo good.

The R-Man ran into Scooby and Shaggy with the Mystery Machine. Any Scooby Snacks in there that I could take back for Whiskey?

The Delorean!!!! I was so psyched to go on this ride, but when we got there they had replaced it with The Simpsons Ride. Still a great ride, but I wish they had kept the Back to the Future one too. (I actually did a Back to the Future marathon this weekend. Still as good as I remember!)

And Doc’s Time Machine Train too!

The “big” kids getting some love from Homer.

And the jokesters up to no good. Are they seriously 13 years old?

Yep…they are.

Its so fun walking around admiring “old New York”
I would love it if this was my local pub!
Its all the little details in every building that make it such a great experience.

The Blues Brothers showed up in the Bluesmobile. Classic!

After a great performance by The Blues Brothers we called it a day. If we’d had more energy we would have done the Universal City Walk at night to see all the different theme bars and restaurants, but we were all tuckered out.

Last post about Florida is tomorrow! You can catch Part One here and find out why you shouldn’t buy someone a shot at Bike Week here.
