The whole point of our road trip to Kingston last weekend was to attend a banquet to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Queen’s Film Department. All week I was looking forward to seeing everyone from the department again and catching up with some of my former classmates.
Ash and I took our “prom photo” out in front of the garage. I love love love the dress that she wore that night. The pearls were perfect with it too!
The banquet hall was packed with former film students – some of whom went into the film industry and some who pursued careers in different fields. The guy in the grey jacket in the middle of this picture is Piers Handling, the CEO of the Toronto International Film Festival (one of the three big film festivals in the world – alongside Cannes and Berlin).
…including my former boss, Linda, from when I worked as a student at the Film House. I loved every day that I worked with her and it was a real shame when I graduated and had to leave. I’m glad that we still get to keep in touch through work and see each other a few times each year in person. Everything I know about office administration came from this lady! She is The Grand Master of Organizing! (which in an office full of busy Film Studies professors is key!)
The view looking out from the top of the hotel where the banquet was. Just on the other side of this bay is Historic Ford Henry (an awesome place to check out if you’re in the area).
And from the other side of the hotel you can see the harbour downtown. In the far distance is Wolfe Island, which by the looks of it has had a number of power windmills added onto it since I’ve lived here.
Yum yum!
After the dinner there was lots of dancing (including a big rendition of Mustang Sally) and catching up with old friends, and then a bunch of us head over to the Tir Na Nog pub to grab some pints.
And guess who just happened to be working that night? Why none other than my sister’s former housemate Katie, the owner of that adorable beagle puppy I kept taking pictures of earlier this year.
For a model, this girl is awfully camera shy. Like the new blonde hair though! Very fun 🙂
It was a successful night of good food, great friends, delish wines and of course LOTS of dancing (my feet were aching the next day, but it was worth it to rock the heels!) Can’t wait for the 50th anniverday now 😉

Great documentation of our weekend. I had a great time seeing everyone again.
Please thank your sister and Bryan again for letting us take over the house for a couple of days.
P.S. I loved your dress too. It’s so flattering on you!
