After posting about how I decorated the living room yesterday, I decided to show how I changed things up in the bedroom for Fall. After months of having the same pillow covers on my bed, it seemed like the right time to tweak a few things.
I switched my sheets from the cream I had all summer, to a nice dark brown. The duvet cover got swapped from the colourful small flowery one I use in the Spring/Summer, to a red small flowery one for Fall/Winter.
I made two new gold toned pillow covers to go over my large decorative pillows. I picked this fabric right away because I love the quilted pattern and the gold tone. It will make an easy transition into other seasons too.
And that little pillow at the front? I just took some extra scraps left over from doing the pillows on the couch, and made a tiny cover for it as well.
There are a few other little Autumn touches, like swapping out the books on the nightstand with some colourful ones and adding a little pumpkin lantern.
That yellow one on the top is like a bible to me. I love Pioneer Woman and her recipes. And the Nora Roberts? Well, what can I say? I like romance novels. I spend enough time reading intense literature for work, that I figure I deserve a break every now and then.
I also did something I haven’t done in a looooong time. I bought a scented candle! I was walking by Bath & Bodyworks in the Eaton’s Centre one day and I saw they had Fall candles on display. I was intrigued to say the least. After smelling all the candles, I decided on the Autumn scent (I know, original, eh?) and a Kitchen Spice one that I have in the kitchen (Again, original.) I’m not usually a big fan of scented candles but they are just both so yummy, that I couldn’t resist.
And what does Whiskey think of the new decor? He’s loving it so much that I caught him on the bed with his squirrel.
I even came home last night from being out to find him snuggled in behind the new pillow covers like he was in a little cave. Seriously, this dog can be too cute for me to handle sometimes.
I even had just enough fabric leftover to make another little cover for the pillow that sits on my brown velvet boudoir chair. The fabric just so happens to match my scarf that I just bought last week too. Perfect!
Well, I’m off to go enjoy another Fall day outdoors, but it will be nice to come home to this in the evening. Hope you all have a great weekend!
