Snow Day!

Yesterday I got snowed in at my parents house. Or more appropriately, “iced in”. I was up visiting for the weekend and when I went to leave on Monday morning it wasn’t looking for good. It had snowed on and off for most of the previous week and combine that with wet snow on Sunday and a severe drop in temps overnight…and you have an icy situation.

The car doors were frozen shut. The roads were like ice rinks. People were going in ditches of the highway and CAA was a two hour wait. People on the 402 near Sarnia have been stranded for over 24 hours. It was pure madness. Coincidentally, my computer system at my office was having problems, so I couldn’t even log into my office computer and do some work.

So I decided to bunker down at my parents’ place and enjoy the day off.
I made Peppermint Bark.
I watched movies.
I did laundry.
I read.
I fell asleep reading.
I cuddled with Whiskey.
It was a much needed day off.
Now I’m back at the office. With twice as much work to do today. But it was worth having a day where I had to do nothing. I think I need to start having more days like this.
