100 Miles in May Update!

We’ve gone 1764 miles together already! Woohoo!

A number of people have already gone over 100 miles and some of you are almost there. I’m so proud of you guys! And its motivating me to keep going myself!

For the rest of us who are still pushing to finish 100 Miles in May, I’ve come up with a few things that I’m hoping to do to motivate me and they may work for you too!

1) Book your Exercise

Source

It doesn’t take long for a day to get away on me and before I know it, I have done nothing physical, but I’m wiped out and ready to go to bed rather than lace up my sneakers. I find that the easiest way to make sure that I work out is by writing it in my schedule. If I make a plan to do it, I’m more likely to stick to it. If I have to cancel for whatever reason, I make sure to exchange it for something else, whether its biking on the stationary bike while catching up on my favorite shows or doing some Bedtime Yoga to ease myself to sleep.

2) Set a Walking/Running Date

If I make plans to go on a walk/run or attend an exercise class with a friend, I’m MUCH more likely to go. I can picture them waiting for me and I just can’t let them down, and in the end I don’t let myself down either. Plus its much more enjoyable to go on a long walk with a friend and catch up, than to just go solo.

3) Break it Down
I have to go 55 more miles this month to complete the challenge and the easiest way to do that is to break up the time by the number of days left. With 13 days left, that means I have to do 4.25 miles each day. Its manageable if I stick to it, and when there are days that I know I can do more (like this weekend), I’m going to try to go even more to give me a little more leeway during the week.

What are you doing to motivate you to keep
doing the 100 Miles in May Challenge?
