This weekend I headed up to my parents’ place to celebrate Mother’s Day and enjoy the lovely feeling of Spring. The entire drive I started to see beautiful green fields where only weeks ago it was all barren and sometimes still covered in snow. I was really looking forward to getting my hands dirty in the garden and helping my mom with some of the gardening.
Together, we waded through muck in the ravine behind our house to transplant some trees that she helped save from a local forest being destroyed. It has been so sad to see the forest disappear, but its nice that we were at least able to save some of it and take it home.
While my mother and I stumbled our way through the brush, my father and brother put together a new patio table that she received for Mother’s Day. I can’t wait to enjoy this all summer on the back deck!
The dogs thoroughly enjoyed everyone being outside all weekend and spent the whole time running around the lawn.
While I was home, I took the chance to pop over to my friend’s place and see her new little baby boy. He is such a cutie and even though he is only nine weeks old, he is quite the little talker.
He had so many “stories” to tell me. It’ll be great to hear what he is actually saying when he can talk someday.
The nice weather also called for a BBQ with friends. Bring out the tongs!
It was still chilly, but we braved the cool weather to enjoy some of the much loved sun.
Another new addition to the neighbourhood was a cute puppy that my sister’s friend recently got. You can see here that even my sister cannot resist the charms of a cute puppy.
He kept trying to play with Whiskey, but he may have been a little too curious for his own good. I think the little guy was just in shock seeing another small dog, after spending most of his time with big dogs.
After lots of fun with family, friends, babies and dogs, the weekend ended with a lovely drive along the lake and a beautiful sunset to finish things off! Now I have to wait another five days for the next one!

BBQ season! Had the first one this weekend! I’ve been waiting for my parents to put out the patio stuff on the front porch and in the backyard, and I think my dad is actually doing it now as I type. YESS
