Organizing my craft supplies is taking a little longer than I expected, so I’ve jumped to the next task on the list….setting up our new BBQ!
For Christmas this year, my parents gave me this amazing stainless steel BBQ. It looks like one of the big industrial ones, but on a smaller sacle, which is perfect for our little deck. The sides fold down to make it even smaller for storage, and it has a great cover to protect it when we’re not using it.
Garrett’s aunt and uncle gave us a gift card to Lowe’s for Christmas and we used some of it to buy all the BBQ tools we’d need – a scraper, spatula, fork, brush, tongs and a vegetable basket. This is an absolute must if you like BBQ’d vegetables.
For our first attempt at using the grill, we made chicken one night this week.
Garrett is quickly becoming the master griller in the family. He even seasoned the grill with oil (like you would a cast iron skillet) and had it all ready when I got home for us to barbecue.
How perfect are those grill lines? I can see lots of grilled meat in our future.
To accompany the chicken, I cooked broccoli and added a homemade cheese sauce on top. Not the fanciest of dinners, but definitely one of my favourite since we’ve moved here.
I’m hoping to get some more of the tasks done this weekend and I’ll be sure to post about what I’ve been up to! I think I need to research a few more storage ideas for the craft supplies. Maybe even use Pintrest…but that always leads to hours of “pinning”. Its addictive!

Yay! When my husband began the BBQ hobby, I was thrilled. I will happily cook sides any day of the week for some of his incredible porterhouse steak.
