I can’t believe that it is almost Easter! Today feels like a Friday (last day of the work week! woohoo!) and I can’t wait to head home tonight to start all the Easter fun. We’re at my parents’ home for Easter and I love being back in my hometown for a bit.
I know I’m home when I see this on the road…
Pickup trucks with haybales in the back. Even though I’ve moved out of the city, our new area isn’t quite as rural as my hometown is. Yep, there is no doubt I’m home.
These two are happy to be together again too. Just mentioning the name “Shadow” when I was packing this week had Whiskey doing spins and jumps. They really are best buds….more like partners in crime. (Remember the shredded stocking of Christmas ’09?)
Another great thing about Easter is spending time with some of my family. This year we’re doing a BBQ dinner at my uncle’s house, which is a nice change from the usually turkey/ham fare. Bring on the potato salad!
I just can’t resist candy coated chocolate….or any nut-free chocolate for that matter.
I also want some of these…but I’ll have to resist eatting the whole bag because I need to make a batch of these:
My Easter Egg Nest Cookies are the perfect quick Easter cookie to take to a party we’re going to. The hardest part is not eating all the eggs.
Thank you for all your sweet comments and emails yesterday about the nostalgia of the classic Bunny Cake. Next time I’m going to try it with shredded coconut like you guys recommended.
My little cousin loves them….especially the cream cheese icing. Can you blame her?
I could go for one of those myself right now. (Can you tell its almost lunch time and I’m hungry?)
Family and food aside, one of my favourite parts of Easter is all the spring decorating, like my Robin’s Egg Easter Decor this year (including my much loved Easter Tree!)
It’s been fun Growing Cat Grass for centerpieces and I hope to try it some more with a few other projects this year.
And I imagine there with be some more Easter Bunny Brutality when my brother gets home tonight, but aside from that, I’m planning on a nice relaxing weekend with family and friends! I hope you all have that too 🙂
