Wedding

The Summer of Weddings

This year seems to be The Summer of Weddings. I have at least four weddings to go to this year, and they are all for incredible girls who I’ve seen grow into amazing women, each with their own rich, full life. I’m so excited for every one of them and all the wonderful things they have to look forward to.

Tomorrow the first of my university roommates is getting married. It means that our whole house will be there to celebrate! And we have another roommate getting married later in the summer too.
I love these girls and only wish that I could see them more. We try to get together at least once a year, and this year we even managed to squeeze in a Christmas dinner together as well. Now we have two reasons to see each other this summer!

Alison, me, Colleen, Jenilee and Jess

Colleen, the tall one in the back, is tomorrow’s bride and I can’t wait to see what her dress will be like. Back when we were in school she used to make her own dresses for our dances. Later in this summer Jenilee will be getting married too (on the right, in the pink). I’m sure her bubbly personality will come through in all the wedding preparations.

Next up are my good friends Eve and Mat, who will be doing something a little less traditional, which is just like how I imagined they would have a wedding. Its going to be on Toronto Island, with all of us taking water taxis to the festivities. With this group, I’m sure there will be lots of dancing, good food and plenty of laughs.

Ashley, Eve and me.

Here we are two years ago when we took a road trip to Kingston for our school reunion. I’m really hoping that Ashley will be able to make it to the wedding too! She has been in Spain for the past year and a half for school and we all miss her. Come back to Canada soon 🙂

Then later in the fall one of my favourite hometown ladies is tying the knot!

Chris and Kim

Kim is marrying her sweetheart, Chris. I’ve known Kim since our high school days of group projects, semi formal dances and athletic council. It’ll be a great chance to see some of my high school friends as well and catch up.

I’m so excited for all these lovely ladies and I can’t wait to see them celebrate these exciting days for them.

I’ve been lucky to go to some really lovely wedding the past few years and the great thing about having a blog is that I can go back and look at the posts to remember these great moments. It really is like having a digital photo album of memories.

A Lovely June Wedding

This wedding of my friends Randy & Sarah was full of fresh colours of white, green and cream. Every little detail was beautiful, right down to the little topiaries to hold up the table numbers.

White Black & Pink

I went along with a friend to his sister’s wedding which was the epitome of ski chalet chic. A beautiful rustic building with colourful pops of pink and damask.

A Winter Wedding

This was my first time being to a wedding in the winter and aside from learning that you don’t wear open toed shoes when you have to walk through the snow to the church, it was a lovely evening.

A Beautiful Fall Wedding

This past November, Garrett and I were in the wedding party of our close friends Courtney and Dave. Playing up the rich red colours of fall, the whole night was full of lovely memories with our friends.

Now I’m off to figure out what I’m going to wear tomorrow. I had a dress picked out but now I don’t like it. This calls for a Friday night shopping trip!
