Happy 4th of July to all my American friends and family! I hope you’re having a great day celebrating with your family and friends.
This weekend we celebrated our own country’s birthday (Canada Day!) at our friends’ cottage.
The first night, we did our fireworks off of the dock. You could hear the cheers coming across the water from cottages around the lake.
The next night it was our turn to cheer, as the neighbours across the bay set off their own show.
We watched while sitting around the fire pit and making our third round of Bonfire Banana Boats (they were popular!)
Someone else wasn’t isn’t too happy about the fireworks though. When we got back home on Monday evening, people in our neighbourhood starting setting some off and this is where Whiskey bunkered down for the night. I can always tell when there has been a loud bang while I’m away because I find all the bath mats twirled into a nest. Poor fella.
Our dogs hate them too!
