Glossybox vs. Loose Button’s Luxe Box |
So it turns out that I still had one more month on my Loose Button beauty subscription, so I decided to another little comparison between that box and the June 2012 Glossybox. (Go here for my May 2012 comparison).
Luxe Box by Loose Button – June 2012
If only this had been the products that I’d gotten last month, maybe I wouldn’t have cancelled.
Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in a really funky pink zebra stripe pattern and a full size bottle of OPI Top Coat, which is perfect for sealing the new nail design. I haven’t tried these yet but I have a bachelorette party coming up soon and I think this would be a really fun event to try these out at.
L’Oreal Professional Mythical Oil – I use Moroccan Oil on a regular basis, but I’m going to switch it up next week and try this brand. It’s a blend of avocado and grape-seed oil which is supposed to give shine, soften the hair and provide anti-frizz protection. I hope it works in this humidity!
Olay Professional Pro-X Eye Restoration Complex (and a bonus compact mirror) – I’m going to start adding this into my nighttime routine and see if it helps out with the dark circles I have right now (although I’m sure that more sleep would help out too!)
Glossybox – June 2012
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Lotion SPF 55 – This is actually the brand I already use and love, so this was a nice little surprise. It’s the perfect size for putting in my purse, which worked out very nicely when I forgot to pack the sunscreen last weekend for the cottage. What I love about this product is that it is super sheer and lightweight. It doesn’t leave that greasy feeling that other sunscreens can and it dries really quick.
Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz – This is another product that I tossed into my bag for the cottage and I tried it after a swim but all it did was make my hair straw-like. Then when I got home I found this little instruction guide they included in the package which explains how you should wait until your hair is dry (which I didn’t) and twist it up into a bun until the product is dry to get the waves (which I also didn’t do). I’m going to try it again this weekend and hopefully I’ll get more of a beachy look like I was hoping for.
Gillette Venus Embrace Razor – I always love getting a new razor, especially these 5 blade kinds. They are much more forgiving for those of us who shave in a rush and they really do give you super smooth legs in the summer.
Cover Girl Flipstick – Blendable Duo – I had to laugh at this one because there is no way that I would ever wear this out in public. One side is a super high shine bronze and the other is a dark chocolate colour.
Garrett didn’t like it either. However, after I tried to wipe this off his face, I noticed that it leaves a nice subtle shine (which he didn’t appreciate having on his way to the gym). But maybe I can use this as a bit of a bronzer?
Biore Combination Skin Balacing Cleanser – A big full size bottle of cleanser which is supposed to help balance out your skin. I don’t have too many skin problems, but it will be interesting to see if this really balances things out.
Biore Deep Cleansing Strips – I haven’t used these since high school, but I remember them being fun to use back then. Especially when you see all the nasty stuff that comes out of your pores. Yuck!
Olay Regenertist Wrinkle Revolution Complex – Another new product to add to my nighttime routine. Even though I really don’t have many wrinkles, it’s all about prevention, right?
As much as Loose Button redeemed itself this month, I have to say that I like the Glossybox selection and quantities better. I really like that they selected some summer appropriate products and I’m excited to try them all.

I LOVED it this month. It’s too bad about the lipstick; I got a nice pinky colored one in mine. I tried the Wella spray, but I’m still not sure how I feel about it. Maybe I need my hair to be a bit longer but my hair just doesn’t look good when I use it. Plus, the straw like feel isn’t appealing.
