Another one of the highlights from our visit to the dog festival a couple of weeks ago, was getting a chance to check out the Ultimate Air Dogs of Canada.
They had a giant inflatable pool set up in a field, with bleachers set up for spectators.
Each dog’s owner would run with them along the little bridge and then toss a toy into the water.
They were measured on how far they could jump, using the foot measurements along the side.
But the best part was always the big splash at the end, while the crowd cheered.
My favourite was this little girl and her chocolate lab.
This dog knew to give take a really good running start.
He’d go flying across the water, getting the farther away than any dog.
And then land with a gigantic splash….which got not only the spectators along the side, but also me and my camera a little wet.If only we could get Whiskey trained to want to jump into the water…although I doubt he’d ever get very far…or make a big splash!
Oh, how fun! I love watching these competitions on TV. Totally jealous you got to see it in real life!
