With Halloween less than two weeks away, I’m starting to think about Halloween costumes. I have always loved Halloween – the spooky movies, getting dressed up, the candy (especially Charleston Chews!).
Usually I try to get dressed up and head out somewhere with friends, like the first year Garrett and I did Halloween together. He went a MacGruber and I went as Poison Ivy from the Batman Comics. It’s always fun to think you a costume and then try to make it. Even if it is just some headband Cat Ears!
As fun as it is to dress up myself, my favourite thing to do around this time of year, is make Whiskey a costume. He has a great love of all things sweater-like, which means he will tolerate any costume that is cozy.
The first year after I adopted him, he dressed up as a Taco for Halloween, paying homage to his Chihuahua roots. (Tutorial Here).
The next year, I made him Bat Wings, using soft felt straps to attach it around him. He was doing great with them on…until he got stuck going under a chair.
Last year, I made a Wile. E. Coyote costume for him because he’s always reminded me a little of that cartoon character. I loved how his little rocket turned out.
So far, I’m stumped for this year! Any ideas? What are you favourite doggie costumes?

That ACME rocket on your pet just cracks me up! I loved the Poison Ivy costume by the way!

That bat costume on your pet sure seems like he’s about to fly any moment now!
