It’s no surprise that I love crafting so much, given how many crafts my mother did was us while I was growing up. Our kitchen room table saw a steady rotation of construction paper, glitter and glue, and there was always some “masterpiece” stuck on the fridge.
As a kid, I always looked forward to the crafts that she would come up with around the different holidays and seasons the most. When browsing Pinterest the other night, I came across so many fun, Easter Egg inspired craft ideas that would have had 7 year old Amanda itching to get out the craft scissors (and let’s be honest, 27 year old Amanda was as well) .
Hopefully they’ll inspire you and your family to get around the kitchen table this weekend and have some fun crafting together. You’ll be making memories that they’ll remember for years to come (I know I still do).
Wrap chocolate eggs in tissue paper, and glue them onto sticks for a tulip bouquet full of hidden chocolate goodies. It would be a hit at your family’s Easter lunch!
Just like the Colourful Twine Wrapped Easter Eggs that I made for our Easter decor this year, you can use that same method to wrap plastic eggs in yarn and make fun Easter animals. The fuzzy bunny is just too cute.
Using blown out egg shells, styrofoam eggs or wooden eggs, you can great your own little pig pen. Complete with pink button noses and curly pipe cleaner tails.
Looking for a little Easter bling? Thread together jelly beans onto a ribbon necklace, with a giant Easter Egg pendant in the center.
Make your own maracas! Fill Easter eggs with small dried beans, and then tape them to a stick with colourful washi tape.
After Easter, when you’ve dyed your eggs and maybe even made egg salad with the insides, you can still reuse those colouful broken egg shell pieces to create a lovely flower picture. Perfect fridge artwork for Spring!
